Family Visitor Visa

The Canadian Government issues a visa to people having relatives in Canada. Family visa is again one of the visas Canada offers to come along with a family. Family members who travel with a visa have no restrictions inside the country. To make your visit to Canada easier learn what are the things to do to get your tourist visa.

Eligibility:

  1. Anyone wanting to enter Canada must have a valid passport with at least 6 months’ validity before it expires.
  2. Proof to support that they can afford the visit with their family.
  3. Explain plan to return to their home country after the stay and be in good health. They might be asked for a doctor’s note, employment verification and sometimes a letter from a friend or family member who is a Canadian citizen.

Applying for the Visa:

Not everyone who wishes to travel to Canada needs a visa. You can check the CIC website to find out if you will need a visa. If you need a visa, detailed instructions are available explaining the process, forms and instructions that you will need to start the application process. Make sure you read the instructions as they will also help you determine your eligibility.

Documents required:

In addition to the passport, you will need two recent photographs that are two by two inches. You may also be asked for a letter of invitation. The visa package includes the initial application.

Denial:

Criminal convictions such as assault, theft, manslaughter and driving while intoxicated can have your visa request denied. If you are sick or contagious you can be denied entry. Canadian officials suggest you check their website for more information on who will be denied entry into their country.

Fees:

Application fees for visas are not refundable for any reason. Payment must be included with the application forms. Payment methods vary from country to country. Check with your local embassy for more information.

Exemptions:

Enhanced passport holders do not need a visa to enter Canada. Some other exemptions apply so be sure to check thoroughly before you apply for your Canadian visa.

Be mindful that it can sometimes take longer than expected so book your tickets or make plans accordingly. CIC can ask for more details if they found the application is lacking some important information.  Apply for visa at least 7 months to 8 months before you have planned to go. A minimum of 6 months will be taken by the consulate to collect information about you, the details you submitted in your application, confirm that information and so on

Applying for Canadian Super Visa

There are 2 options;

  • 1. Apply Online

Filling an online form is an easier option because you can correct your mistakes while you are filling the form. You might find this application as lengthy and time consuming as it requires lot of information about yourself. One would need a valid way to make an online payment of the fees. Payment can be made through credit card or other bank cards.

  • 2. Second Option is Paper application

One can download the application package from the CIC website and can sit back and fill it. In this package, there is a checklist explaining all the documents you require and guide how to fill this application. Fill in all the sections with required details. Do not leave anything blank as this can change the outcome of your application result. Incomplete applications are not accepted. Ask a qualified RCIC to guide you through the instruction guide if you are not able to understand something, but do not leave the questions unanswered.
